Frequently asked

Quick answers.

Who is liable in a collision on the slopes? +
Each skier is primarily responsible for their own conduct — the FIS rules are the key benchmark. In the individual case, speed, visibility, overtaking situation and evidence are decisive. After any collision, we recommend securing witnesses and photos immediately.
Do I have to travel to Salzburg for an initial consultation? +
No. We routinely offer initial consultations by video call or phone — especially for clients based in Vienna, Linz, Innsbruck, Graz or elsewhere. Documents can be submitted securely online, contracts are signed electronically. If you prefer to visit us in Salzburg in person, you are also very welcome — both options are available.
Does my liability insurance cover a ski accident? +
Private liability insurance usually covers sports accidents, with exceptions for gross negligence and certain racing situations. Coverage should be at least EUR 5 million. In case of damage, we review coverage and negotiation position.
How long do I have to file claims? +
Civil damages claims in Austria generally become time-barred after three years from knowledge of damage and liable party — longer in cases of severe personal injury. Early legal advice prevents loss of rights.
What does an initial consultation cost? +
The initial assessment is generally covered by a flat-fee consultation. We discuss the exact framework openly and up-front — no hidden costs.
