Ski patrol report as evidence after a ski accident

Ski patrol reports, photos and witnesses secure claims after a ski accident. We explain which evidence matters and when to act quickly.

Your personal attorney

Your lawyer for ski and alpine accidents

Ski and alpine accidents are complex and emotional. One lawyer you know, from the first question to the courtroom. Strong practical background (former ski instructor, mountain rescuer and dog handler).

In larger cases, the work is handled as a team (lawyer, trainee lawyer, legal assistant). Court hearings and negotiations always remain a matter for the lead lawyer.

After a ski accident the decisive issue is often not only the legal rule, but the evidence from day one. Patrol report, photos, witnesses and medical findings must fit together.

The ski patrol report does not replace legal review. It can record where the accident happened, which injuries were visible and who gave information on site.

Which evidence do you have?

Your answer decides which review should come first.

Overview of all answers.

01

Review the report

We compare report, findings and photos. Contradictions need early clarification.

02

Structure own evidence

Photos and witnesses help, but do not replace a neutral accident report. We secure the chain of evidence.

03

Secure evidence now

If nothing is documented yet, speed matters. We prepare an evidence list and request records.

What the accident report really proves

The report records perceptions at the accident site. It does not automatically prove who is legally liable.

Relevant are time, exact location, piste condition, names of involved persons and first statements on the sequence. Later deviations need explanation.

Which additional documents you should secure

Photos of the accident site, ski tracks, markings and visibility help later reconstruction. Medical findings secure the link between accident and injury.

In a collision, witness contact details are especially important. Without witnesses, a plausible claim can quickly become an evidence problem.

Practice: Request the accident report promptly and do not edit original photos. Screenshots help, but the original file with time data is better.

Frequently asked

Questions on patrol reports

Must ski patrol hand over a report? +

That depends on the operator and data protection roles. In any event the report should be requested early and the purpose stated clearly.

Are photos enough as evidence? +

Photos help if place, time and condition remain traceable. They do not replace witnesses or medical findings.

What if the report is wrong? +

Contradictions must be documented and checked against other evidence.
